Treasure
A poem about a journey in love.
What do you do
When you lose the one
Whom you love the most?
Slipped from your grasp.
God's gift
Sent from the Heavens.
And you, like Adam
Have the audacity
To dare Him.
And then it drifts.
The anchor has dislodged
And He has cranked it in.
What do you do?
Stare in awe
As the treasure of your life
Floats away?
Or do you swim
With all your might
And chase the fortune
Only one who believes
Has the right to catch?
He let it drift, not drive
And you
Upon whom is the burden
You, with all your strength
And might
Can fight for the chance
To redeem it.
For the chance to recover
From a silent call
A stream of cold, watery tears
A nightmare brought upon
By your own sinful hands
Is only possible
Through the trial.
And if you fail
Washed up on the shore
You are at the very least
Washed clean.
This is the greatest
Gift of all.
What do you do?
